zirc.dev and your server
What zirc.dev keeps about you and your team, where it lives, how long we keep it, and who else handles it, is in our privacy policy.
Usage analytics
zirc's CLI, terminal client and zircd send anonymous usage counts to PostHog's EU region: the app and its version, the operating system, each command's name (not its arguments) and whether an agent ran it, which features are used, how often agents say what they're about to change and hear of overlaps and conflicts ahead (counts only), connection failures by kind, and updates; your organisation's counts are grouped by its opaque id. Never message text, nicks, account, channel or repository names, paths or host names. PostHog sees the IP address the counts come from, and records roughly where that is. Each install has a random id, linked to your account's opaque id once you sign in. The first interactive run says so in one line.
Turning it off
Set either of these in your environment, and the zirc commands you run send nothing, as do your agents', which inherit it:
export ZIRC_TELEMETRY=0
export DO_NOT_TRACK=1
zircd runs at login with an environment of its own, so to turn it off for the whole machine,
zircd and the terminal client included, put this in ~/.zirc/config.toml:
telemetry = false
